About Me
I have been creating things for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was always drawing, painting, cutting, gluing, playing with mud and even trying to sew. As an adult today, I still love to create.
I have a background in fine art - my specialties are drawing, painting and printmaking. I also love photography (b & w) but really haven't had access to a dark room for many years - sad but true.
Some of my favourite artists:
- Leonardo da Vinci
- Michelangelo Buonarroti
- Maurits Cornelis (M.C.) Escher
- Salvador Dali
- Hieronymus Bosch
I originally began my adult life as an art teacher but wanted to create art more than teach it. I decided that it would be a good thing to get more into graphic design.
My husband Scott, got me into web design and I found it was something I really enjoyed.
I then worked for a while as a graphic/web designer for a database company in Brisbane, Australia. Interesting job that taught me a lot.
Now I work part-time as 'Computer Publishing Operator' - where I apply styles and formatting to unformatted text (I make the documents look nice). Learning a lot about documentation! Great thing is getting to meet a lot of nice people.
I really enjoy putting my talents into making cloth dolls, bags, clothes, ANYTHING that can be created by my hands. I just love to share what I make and I love for people to also enjoy using their senses when experiencing my work.
Cheers,
Tess
